Prof. Tianshou Zhao, Director of EI, Named Highly Cited Researcher 2020 by Web of Science
Cheong Ying Chan Professor of Engineering and Environment Prof Tianshou Zhao, Director of HKUST Energy Institute, Chair Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Senior Fellow of HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study, has been named a Highly Cited Researcher 2020 by Web of Science. He was recognized in the cross-field category that identifies researchers with substantial influence across serval fields. This is the 6th time he had been selected in the list, which represents some of the world's most influential scientific minds. The honor gives to researchers who have a contemporary research achievement that rank in the top 1% most-cited in their respective fields over an 11-year period (2009-2019) Such consistent production of highly cited reports indicates that the work of these researchers has been repeatedly judged by their peers to be of notable significance and utility.
The annual list recognizes leading researchers in the sciences and social sciences from around the world. The 2020 list contains about 6,400 highly cited researchers, some 3,900 in 21 fields of the sciences and social sciences and about 2,500 Highly Cited Researchers identified as having exceptional performance across several fields. Prof. Zhao is among the Highly Cited Researcher in the field of cross-field who with exceptional performance across several fields.
