Profile

Prof. Ping GAO is Professor at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. She received Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) from Dalian University of Light Industry, China in 1985, and PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of Cambridge, UK in 1990. Prof Gao conducts research on Fuel Cell Membrane. Her other research focus is on the micro-rheology study of structured polymer melts. These include thermotropic liquid crystalline polymers (TLCPs), polymer blends containing TLCPs, and polymer blends containing nanoclay fillers. Prof Gao’s other research areas include Bio-polymer materials, Polymer/nanocomposites, Photocatalytic oxidation using OFR and nanoparticles coated wrinkle free cotton fabric. Prof Gao has published papers in energy research in journals such as, J. Mater. Chemistry, Langmuir, Polymer and Journal of Non-Newtonian Fluid Mechanics, etc.
